Turn your bedroom into your own personal spa: homemade exfoliating mask

May 3, 2013

Before any event, I love pampering myself; manicure, pedicure, facial and maybe even a spray tan depending how ghostly my skin is looking.  Unfortunately, I don’t have the funds to pamper myself before the bridal shower and bachelorette party I am attending this weekend, so I instead converted my bedroom into my own personal spa so I can feel pretty for the weekend and relieve some stress!

My skin has been in desperate need of an exfoliation and since that is one product I don’t have on hand, I decided to make my own and make it the first treatment of my at-home spa evening.  It worked great and my skin felt so smooth afterwards!  Try it out for yourselves and let me know how you liked it.

Homemade Super Exfoliating Mask

  • 3 Tablespoons baking soda (exfoliates and scrubs away dead skin)
  • 3 to 4 teaspoons milk (or water if you prefer)
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (detoxifies the skin and gives a healthy glow)
  • 1 teaspoon honey (hydates the skin)
  • 3 to 4 Vitamin E capsules [squeeze the oil out of the capsules] (protects and repairs skin)

Mix contents in small container or bowl and apply to face using a circular motion, then allow to dry for 10 to 15 minutes.  Rinse off with water, again using a circular motion for more exfoliating action.
