6th Day of Christmas: DIY Thumbprint Reindeer Ornament

If you’re looking for a Christmas craft to do with the kiddos or a fantastic gift that any recipient will “aww” at, look no further.  Create an ornament for each child, or add multiple thumbprints on one ornament!  This is another easy and adorable ornament for kids!

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Craft Ornament
  • Acrylic Paint
  • Paint brush
  • Sticker Embellishments (Optional)

1. To get started, take the cap off of your craft ornament and set aside.  Squeeze in a quarter size amount of paint color of choice

2. Shake up ornament and rotate until the entire inside of the ornament is a solid color

3. Turn upside down over a shot glass or dixie cup, and let paint drain out and dry overnight

4. Once the inside of your ornament is dry, here comes the fun part!  Dip your child’s thumb in brown paint, and then press onto the middle of the ornament.  We did this in the bathroom next to the sink to prevent any messes

5. Let thumbprint dry for a few minutes, then using a paint brush, draw antlers on top of thumb print

6. Paint on eyes and nose

7. Optional:  Write child’s name with Sharpie, or glue on any rhinestones or sticker embellishments

On Dasher, on Dancer, on Prancer and Vixen On Comet, on Cupid, on Donner and Blitzen!  The cutest Reindeer of all?  Why a Thumbprint Reindeer, of course!  Oh deer!
