I woke up this morning to Kevin saying goodbye to me before he had to go to work. I was sad but I was too tired to show any real emotion. I thanked him for such an amazing time and we said our “I love you”‘s before he went to work and I fell back to sleep.
Norfolk to ChicagoSeptember 4, 2013
I spent the day getting some things in order, checking e-mails and then headed to the airport. I sat in the Back Bay Bistro and had a $15 sandwich (ugh) and grabbed a Pumpkin Spice Latter (I have been craving one like whoa) before getting on my flight. I am on my flight now about to touch down to O’hare soon. I can’t wait to see my family, my dogs and my friends but I miss Kevin already. I can feel that our love is strong enough to work through anything, including the distance, but I know that at some point I am going to have to make a sacrifice for love and hope that I can find an awesome job in Virginia where I will be able to make enough money to fly to see my family and friends whenever I want. Just one of those bridges to cross when I come to it. I don’t think anything could have made this vacation better. Kevin got a 4-day weekend to spend with me, we got to be together, we had great weather, we had great food, we didn’t get eaten by sharkies, and we professed our love for each other. I’d say a 10/10 for Virginia Beach.
