My Favorite Camping Meal: Walking Tacos

June 20, 2015

I spent Friday with my boyfriend, Mickey and his good friend Johnny at Rock Cut State Park in Loves Park, IL.  In between fishing and the consumption of beverages over the fire, we enjoyed some good eats.

When I think “camp food”, I think soup, hot dogs, smores.. But if you want something a little different that has a collection of flavors in every glorious bite, you have got to try Walking Tacos!

Here are the 5 Easy Steps:

Step 1:  Pick up a medium sized bag of Doritos, and all the taco fixings that you desire.
We used ground beef, cheese, lettuce, fresh salsa, fresh guacamole and Doritos.

Step 2:  Cook up the ground beef on your cast iron skillet over the fire with some oil-season with salt and pepper.

Step 3:  Crush up your bag of Doritos and make a straight cut down the side of the bag to give you an opening.

Step 4:  Add your cooked ground beef and all other taco fixings directly into the Dorito bag

Step 5:  Mix all the ingredients together with a spoon and enjoy!
