Dr. Alan Grant & Dr. Ellie Sattler

I’m normally not a Halloween person, but I had such a fun time this year, I already can’t wait for next!  I’m all about creating costumes out of clothing I already have, and just buying the accessories to finalize the look.  Enter…Jurassic Park!  We each spent less than $15 on our costumes, they were comfortable and a total hit!

  • Denim shirt
  • Red bandana
  • Fedora style hat
  • Khaki’s
  • Brown belt
  • Brown watch
  • Hiking Boots
  • Optional: Sunglasses, Raptor Claw

The only thing Mike had to purchase for his outfit was the denim shirt, which we found at Goodwill for $3.99, and the red bandana ($1.29 at Hobby Lobby).  Mike ordered a replica raptor claw from Amazon for $7.00.

I made the Jurassic Park badges to pull the outfits together (see below).

  • Peach button up shirt
  • Lavender tank top
  • Khaki shorts
  • Hiking boots
  • Brown watch
  • Brown belt
  • Hair clip
  • Optional: Sunglasses, Dinosaur Earrings

I found the perfect peach button-up top at Goodwill for $3.99, the tank top at Forever 21 for $1.90, 3-Pack Dinosaur Earrings at Forever 21 for $4.90, and I found Khaki shorts at Old Navy for…wait for it….$1.50. ( Last minute I ended up wearing a pair of white shorts I already had, just because they were more flattering.)

Because i’m all about a good “theme”, I popped into the dollar store and picked up a pack of toy dinosaurs and two “Jurassic World” cups.

“We don’t need no stinkin’ badges”

The Jurassic Park badges really pull your outfit together.  I made the badges myself in Microsoft Word and then purchased a 12-pack of ID sleeves ($2.00, Walmart) and a pack of ID badge clips ($2.00, Walmart) to put them in.  They looked professional and  made it pretty obvious who we were supposed to be.

Mike and I drove down to Milwaukee on Friday and booked a hotel at the Fairfield Inn & Suites until Sunday. We met a few of our friends at the hotel and got ready for our Halloween Weekend seeing my boyfriends favorite band, Umphrey’s McGee!
