Date Night: Cristine’s Hawaiian Escape

April 1, 2015

It’s hard to find much of a social life these days with working weekends, holidays and awkward hours but I’ve made it work and have been creating the best memories with Mickey.  He had off of work for a week for Spring Break but of course with it being Chicago weather, it was cold and rainy the whole week.  What kind of girlfriend would I be if I didn’t try to spread a little sunshine and end his Spring Break with a bang?  (No pun intended)

I rushed to the nearest party store after work and went home to get ready and prepare for our tropical date night.  I instructed him to wear a Hawaiian shirt and he picked up sushi.  When he arrived, I opened the door decked out in Hawaiian gear and lei’ed him before pulling him into the dining room to see my table set up.

He made delicious rum cocktails that we sipped out of straws decorated with drink umbrellas, we ate sushi and talked about our days and listened to the sweet sounds of Jack Johnson and Jimmy Buffet.

We continued the night by checking our March Madness brackets and checking out what was going on with the Basketball Games.  Notre Dame was in my Final Four, it was a sad minute while they lost and I kissed goodbye to the pool of money I could have won if they made it all the way.  After exhausting the basketball games we turned on Star Wars and fell asleep.

Cristine’s Hawaiian Escape Ratings:
10’s across the board, obviously.  Although the infestation of dogs might not pass inspection.
