Chanel Makeup Must-Haves

June 30, 2014

Last weekend I had my makeup done by some of the wonderful artists of Chanel.  Heath walked me through the essential skin care, full line of makeup and gave me a subtle but clean makeup application.  Obsessed.

He was great because he didn’t try to strong-arm me into buying anything.  But of course, as these things go, I loved everything he applied to my face and the way it felt.
With that said, here are a few of my Chanel must-faves:

Perfection Lumiere Velvet– The perfect light coverage foundation with SPF 15.

I have always used my MAC Studio Foundation but it tends to get cakey and provides over-coverage and the “mask effect”.  This foundation I simply rub on my face in a circular motion and never get that maskey look.  It’s lightweight, smooth and subtle.  For extra coverage, you can smooth on another layer.  I simply use my MAC StudioFix Powder over it and a Chanel Bronzer (below).
Les Beiges Healthy Glow Multi-Color Broad Spectrum SPF 15–  I was used to using my foundation, powder, bronzer and then my blush.  Heath taught me that if I use my my blush in between my powder and bronzer, it blends everything more nicely.  This bronze is my fave.  I’m telling you, I have never bought better bronzers than Chanel.  If you’re looking for a bronzer that makes you look 10x tanner, this one isnt for you.  This provides again, nice coverage but doesn’t overdo it.  It matches to my skin perfectly.

Rouge Coco Hydrating Creme Lip Color (dedicace)
– I dont normally go for lipsticks and when I do, I have one red lip that I go for, so I was a little daring and decided to try a pink lip!  I fell in love with this lipstick the minute I had it on.  It is so hydrating and feels more like putting on lip balm than it does lipstick.  I’m a fan.
Glossimer (168 desire)– Another Chanel item you can never go wrong with is their lip glosses.  They last, they aren’t too sticky and they just look so clean.  I apply my lipstick and apply this gloss over for the perfect pink lip.

If you’re looking to switch up your makeup routine and want a subtle, clean makeup line, I would give Chanel a try!  You can stop by any Chanel makeup counter at Nordstrom and have them show you some products and see what you think of them for yourself!
