This weeks date night? Parisian Themed!
We donned our Parisian best and I put together the best French themed date I could after a long day of work! How does one throw together such a night? Simple…
Step 1: Pull a recipe from Julia Childs cookbook and simplify it to your liking
Step 2: Put together creative elements to create a Parisian vibe
Step 3: When all else fails, play French Music
I saw this picture on Pinterest and thought it would be such an amazing touch to my french date night.
After multiple attempts trying to recreate it, I gave up. Proceed with caution…
It started off really promising….”simply” build an Eiffel Tower out of Wafers and icing….. Add humidity to the mix and you’ve got a leaning tower of…shit.
My moms attempt turned out similar to that of a 4 year olds- resembling more of a rocket ship than a monument..
and I have to say my brothers turned out the best…though melting within minutes
it wasnt long until I moved on to cooking a dish I had never heard of before, let alone knew how to make.
Coq la Vin! (Per Mickey’s request) I pulled a few recipes, ran to Marianos and got cookin!
For an appetizer, I made a quiche…and by made a quiche I mean bought a frozen one from Trader Joes and zapped it in the microwave for 6 minutes.
We went onto my patio and enjoyed the weather, wine and our french meal while listening to a french Pandora station and talking about our days
Another successful date night complete!
While these sorts of themed nights might not be for every couple, it’s fun to mix things up and step out of your comfort zone every once in a while. What other kind of themed date nights would you like to see? Do you have a favorite French dish that you like to make? Sound off in the comments below.
